I've been a makeup artist and hair stylist for a fantastic 15 years. My journey into the world of beauty began at Blaine Hair Academy, but it was my Aunt, who owned her own salon, that truly ignited my passion. She imparted all the knowledge and skills I carry with me today, and for that, I'm incredibly grateful.
Interestingly, my career in the beauty industry wasn't my initial plan. Back in high school, I had aspirations in the culinary world. Little did I know that fate had a different path in store for me, one where I discovered my true calling as a cosmetologist. What I love most about what I do is the profound impact it can have on people's lives. Making someone feel great about themselves, even on their worst days, is incredibly fulfilling.
My talents primarily lie in hair design, which has become my signature craft over the years. I take great pride in my ability to transform hair into a work of art.
Aside from my expertise in hair design, I'm continually exploring new talents and expanding my skill set. The beauty industry is ever-evolving, and I'm determined to stay at the forefront of innovation.
I've had the pleasure of being a part of the Maryelle Artistry team for the past 2 years, and it has been a truly exhilarating experience. What I cherish most about my job is the diversity it offers. Whether it's a wedding or a commercial shoot, being a part of different events and helping people look and feel amazing never feels like work—it's a rewarding adventure.
Speaking of adventures, my favorite gig with Maryelle Artistry has to be my first commercial shoot. I was admittedly nervous, but it was an eye-opening experience. I got to see firsthand what goes on behind the scenes of a commercial shoot, and it was nothing short of fascinating. From what seemed like an abandoned building to a set that resembled a HomeGoods store, the transformation was awe-inspiring.
If you're looking for a beauty tip, here's one I swear by: never wash your hair on the morning of an updo. Trust me; it can make a world of difference!
